Death certificates and coroner fees
Cost $22 for each certified copy in Santa Clara. You can order the death certificates online, by mail or in person (see full instructions here):

In Santa Clara, coroner fees have to be paid by the funeral home on behalf of the family. The charge for collection is $210, and then there is a $49 daily charge, starting on the 6th day in storage.
